Overview
The framework
Finland is reforming its gambling system. Online betting and online casino games, historically reserved to the state-owned operator Veikkaus, are being opened to licensed commercial operators. Operators should plan against the enacted legislation and the licensing authority's requirements as they are confirmed.
The Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) authorises payment and e-money institutions and investment firms, and is the competent authority for crypto-asset service providers under MiCA.

Considerations
What to weigh up
- Confirm the timetable and conditions of the gambling reform against the enacted legislation.
